Parents

It is really important to have a shared partnership with parents and we welcome parent helpers in school. Parents can help in a variety of ways during the school day such as hearing reading, sewing, or accompanying school trips. Together we can work to make the most of a child's talents and can encourage learning so that a child receives the maximum benefit from their time at school .

We value feedback and regularly seek parents’ views through questionnaires. Parents are also given the opportunity to express their views through the Parent View website and we encourage you to do so at:
https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.

Parent Consultation afternoons and evenings are held twice during the academic year when parents are given the opportunity to discuss their child's progress. Parents are also invited into school every term to look at and share their child's work with their child/ren. This is always very popular. Please see the calendar dates for these.

From time to time, parents will want to see their child's teacher to discuss something specific. At Bartons we encourage this and parents are asked to make an appointment with staff after school at a mutually convenient time. We value a close partnership with families.

Written reports are sent home towards the end of the Summer Term to all parents. Parents of children in Year 6 will also receive their child's end of Key Stage Standard Assessment results. Parents of Reception children will have the opportunity to discuss the Foundation Stage profile with the class teacher. Parents of Year 1 children will receive the results of the annual Phonics Screening Check and parents of Year 4 pupils will receive the Multiplication Tables Check score.

There is an active Friends of Bartons group who help with the organisation of various fund-raising events held throughout the year. Meetings are held regularly and all parents are welcome to attend.
